We opened the doors in early 2002. Richie has lived in the Cleveland Area for about 9 years and grew up in Cary. I have had the love of cars since I could stand up in the front seat of my dad's '57 Chevy and act like I was driving it. Richie has been working on cars for a living for almost 20 years now. I started off doing the basics at a shop in Cary and started my learning curve that will never stop. You can never know everything there is to know about the automobile today. Richie was taking automotive classes at night and going to training courses when they would come up. He has worked at local dealerships and shops in the area. I have been around and seen how things are done at some shops and decided that I could give the customer not only good quality work, which was the only thing I had control over, but also explain more about the fixes needed and give a better customer service at an Phonest fair price for the quality of work done.
David's career started similar to Richie's. He sat in his dad's lap and drove his dad's mustang. From that point on, he had a love for cars. He started doing tires and minor repairs just over twelve years ago then went into the parts business and traveled the east coast for a couple of years as a District Sales Manager then started calling on company owned garages and independent garage owners in the Triangle area which brought Richie and David to cross paths. Then they were just shooting the breeze one day and said "Let's open our own shop and use both of our brains to make a knowledgeable shop that people can come to and feel as if they are being treated fairly and receive quality service at a fair price." So in a nutshell it looks as if Richie and David have the same thing in mind which is quality and Phonesty.
